Lumus see-through wearable display hands-on (Engadget)
Lumus was showing off two different types of wearable displays, the
development kit -- or DK-32 shown above -- and the PD-18-4 a monocular version
using the same technology. Driven by Lumus' patented Light-guide Optical
Element, a micro-display pod, and the Optical Engine which projects light into
the lens -- where it is reflected back to the user's eye via reflectors
embedded in the lens -- the Lumus' DK-32 delivers a bright 720p 3D-capable
display that only weighs 27 grams. The effect is really quite impressive, the
colors are bright -- and adjustable using the display pod -- and images were
surprisingly clear. But the best part, of course, is that while you're
watching YouTube vids and walking about you'll avoid stumbling into objects
and passersby. Also on hand was the monocle which was very much like something
you'd see in a science fiction flick. With the PD-18-4 we checked out a nav
program, some eye tests, and a phone UI mockup. We're stoked at what this
development kit will make possible once it gets into the hands of some evil

The Legendary 426 Hemispherical Engine by Ronald W. Firquain
The 426 hemispherical engine is slowly and carefully being assembled. And is a popular power plant for drag racing, funny cars and muscle cars. It is regarded as the best muscle car engine, so using the best engine design for horsepower makes sense when you are trying to go as fast as possible in mile. And is of the one important most in innovations history. In 1990, Car and Driver wrote that it is unquestionable the king of the muscle cars, both for its speed and for its defiance. And is considered one of the greatest engines ever produced and continues to be the go to engine for street racers.
This engine is, far and away the greatest engine ever built. Once your it is up and running, check out the Visible V8 Model Engine Kit, which includes the illustrated guide, How an Auto Engine Works. It is one of those automotive legends that is best remembered in myth. The aluminum engine is known as, a wet sleeve design using centrifugally cast steel cylinder liners and a two piece block consisting of a main portion and a one piece crank support called a girdle. Under that lift off hood, the dual quad and is stroked to 472 cubes for racing, generating in excess of 650 hp.
Supercharged it is an intricately detailed and realistic scale replica, featuring a detailed blower case with real compression springs and bolts. It is brand new with only 150 mile on it, and with all new upgrades. Even though more rule changes ended its days in the early 70s, and emissions laws and gas prices ended its street career, it is still the engine of choice in professional drag racing. A 426 hemispherical engine is a fairly exotic and expensive engine. It is possibly buy the most expensive muscle car engine to obtain today.
But either way it is just a crazy engine and always produced more then any other engine of its time which is why it is still used in drag racing especially in top fuel cars with 8000 estimated horsepower. And is unquestionably the king of the muscle cars, both for its speed and for its defiance, putting this edition of intermediates among his ten best all time muscle cars. And the original one is currently running at 2000 Revolutions Per Minute for 20 minutes for the cam to break in. The 426 hemispherical engine is the King of the street and Strip. On the other hand, perhaps the 1965 Dodge Coronet is more your speed. They will be in the low fives to high fours before the end of the year now that it is once again legal to run. And is probably tops though for sheer brute horsepower. It is my favorite engine of all time and the AC Cobra my favorite car of all time. An original 318 cubic inch 1970 Plymouth Satellite is worth the price of the engine plus something for the family car shell. Full Blown 426 hemispherical engine is in full, bragging hot-rod vocal mode and provides a fine time. It is regarded as the best muscle car engine, so using the best engine design for horsepower makes sense when you are trying to go as fast as possible in mile.
