Windmills, or known today more as Wind Turbines, are machines designed to convert the energy of the wind using rotating blades to create power. These machines have been around for over a century. In our modern day society, we build a windmill for power to lower costs of electricity by using a natural resource, the wind. Power is generated in the form of electricity by converting the rotation of turbine blades into electrical current by means of an electrical turbine generator. The power in the wind is extracted allowing it to blow past moving blades that exert torque on a rotor. This way an electrical current can be created. It is literally how a windmill works.
